Ultrafiltration is a separation process through a membrane characterized by holes of dimensions of the order of size of millimicrons. The membranes have a high capacity to remove bacteria, viruses and colloidal particles. The smaller the nominal pore size, the greater the ability to remove the substances.
The ultrafiltration process is used for treatment and / or pre-treatment of primary surface water or groundwater for purification and of waste water for re-use in the civil and industrial sectors.
Ultrafiltration units installed with a pre-treatment function improve the productivity of the treatments downstream, by separating the majority of the contaminants that are present in the water, thus improving their efficiency and reducing the costs of investment and management of the units.
